Castle Ashby walk - Miles for Macmillan
Sunday 1st July 2012 at 10:30am
The Castle Ashby walk, taking place on 1st July 2012 from 10:30, is just one of over fifty five fabulous Miles for Macmillan walks organised with support from Boots UK. Set in the fabulous rolling Northamptonshire countryside around the Castle Ashby Estate, there are two walks to choose from, one of 3 miles and one of 9 miles. Both walks wind through the fabulous gardens of the Castle Ashby Estate where you'll be able to take in the sites and scents of the butterfly garden, the rainbow border, the fuchsia house and the Italian formal garden and orangery. The longer walk then extends out in to the surrounding countryside where you'll be serenaded by melodious skylarks and be up close and personal to Northamptonshire's farmland wildlife. The longer route winds around the villages of Chadstone and Whiston, passing the beautiful hilltop Whiston church, before heading back to the village of Castle Ashby itself.
